Tom Hayden was an anti-war activist and author. Best known for speaking out against the Vietnam War, Hayden was an activist for more than 50 years. He served 18 years in the California legislature. Hayden was a member of the editorial board and a columnist at The Nation and was Director of the Peace and Justice Resource Center in Culver City, California. He wrote more than 20 books during his lifetime and was once married to Jane Fonda.
